Our First Snow in Vevey

Below are pictures of down town Vevey and Lake Geneva during our first snow on January 31st.  The night time temperatures, for the last 2 weeks, have been in the single digits-Fahrenheit.  Fortunately, the snow goes about as quickly as it comes.  The one thing we have noticed, is that the water content of the snow is low, so even if you are out in it, you don't get wet.  The snow just brushes off.

As I am sure you have heard, Europe has been under a severe cold spell for the last 2 weeks.  Hundreds of people have died.  Any homeless people that could not find shelter were among the dead.

This is Lake Geneva from the Nestle office. It is not frozen but sometimes it "smolders" with cold. Even the ducks don't seem to want to sit in it.
