We have arrived in Vevey!

The promenade along Lake Geneva with riders on sea horse statues
Further down the waterfront walk-that is the Nestle HQ in the background
Lindsay, Logan, Jack and Jane-this park is the first place we will go when you get to Vevey!

Ice rink next to waterfront walk. People skate for free.
View back to Vevey toward Montreaux and the Alps
Swans, ducks and wildlife everywhere enjoying a sunny swim in Lake Geneva.

It was a long trip but we made the arrival together as planned.  We took a walk to get rid of the cobwebs and decided Vevey looks OK.
We are spending the night in a hotel tonight and meet Swiss Access (the movers) in the morning to go to our apartment.
Bon Soir.

A Tale of at Least Two Cities

Left the Portland West Hills at 3:30 am this morning with snow so heavy we couldn't roll our suitcases through it.
I am sitting at the Portland airport and Jim Ramsey is in Dallas, having left Portland at 6:00am. For reasons to dull to explain, we are on separate itineraries- Jim via Dallas, London and me via Seattle/Paris. Knocking on wood, we will arrive in Geneva both at exactly 11:10 am tomorrow. If it works it will be a travel triumph.
Jackie-Duck went with Papa and is very tired already.

Les Avants

The name of this peak is Dent de Jaman.  It is located above a small Swiss village called Les Avants. (taken during December preview visit to Switzerland)
